On day 2 of the Nuremberg Forum 2021, we will start with outlining the current system(s) addressing or implementing the Nuremberg Principles. We then will identify synergies and cooperation opportunities to help in the strengthening of accountability for core international crimes. Experts will discuss various plans put in place to combat impunity and highlight related challenges with an outlook for a practical solution.
In Panel 6, for example, we will reflect on the sustainable development goals and take a holistic look at achieving sustainable peace through justice and broader conflict prevention goals and aspirations. Experts will share their reflections on how the goals of international criminal justice are being achieved, highlighting the complementing approaches and synergies. Experts will discuss the missing aspects when looking at the various systems, goals, and aspirations – including plans of accelerating and realising the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In the final panel, we will look forward and focus on gaining practical, expertise-based recommendations and innovative ideas towards addressing the raised and discussed challenges, fostering international criminal law. Experts will reflect on the two-day discussion. In this panel, we will reflect on the Nuremberg Forum discussions, on its objectives, and situate the Nuremberg Principles within the framework and system(s) seeking accountability. We aspire to dissect various practical recommendations forward highlighted throughout the past two days.
Join us in helping to achieve our Forum’s objectives and tailor the discussions with more practical examples and challenges.
