Nuremberg Forum: day 2

On 16 October 2021, the International Nuremberg Principles Academy (Nuremberg Academy) welcomed international criminal or related law and justice experts from around the world for Day 2 of its Nuremberg Forum 2021.

Day 2 built on the Day 1 highlights and added a few more challenges and ways forward in addressing accountability for core international crimes, and upholding the Nuremberg Principles.

Nuremberg Forum 2021: Day 1

On 15 October 2021, the International Nuremberg Principles Academy welcomed international criminal or related law and justice experts worldwide for Day 1 of its Nuremberg Forum 2021.

This year’s conference, taking place virtually, and over two days, featured practitioners, including lawyers and judges, varied- justice experts, young professionals, and academics to discuss the common fight against impunity and its living up to the Nuremberg Principles. The main objective of the forum is to reflect on the various challenges connected with the common fight against impunity and the Nuremberg Principles.

News Release: Nuremberg Forum 2021

Nuremberg, Germany – The International Nuremberg Principles Academy (Nuremberg Academy) will convene, from 15 to 16 October 2021, leading experts in international criminal law, and wider public international law, including practitioners and young professionals, for the 6th annual Nuremberg Forum. The virtual conference dedicated to marking the 70th anniversary of the Nuremberg Principles will highlight essential discussions on achievements and challenges of international criminal law. We are using this year the virtual opportunities and welcome interested participants in joining us for this dialogue.

Nuremberg Forum Day 2, 16 October 2021

The International Nuremberg Principles Academy (Nuremberg Academy) is delighted to partner with the Memorium Nuremberg Trials, and present a side event, which will take place on the second day of the Nuremberg Forum 2021, at 10 am CEST.

Has the fight against impunity been living up to the Nuremberg Principles?

On day 2 of the Nuremberg Forum 2021, we will start with outlining the current system(s) addressing or implementing the Nuremberg Principles.  We then will identify synergies and cooperation opportunities to help in the strengthening of accountability for core international crimes. Experts will discuss various plans put in place to combat impunity and highlight related challenges with an outlook for a practical solution.

What is the framework enforcing the fight against impunity?

Join us on Day 1 of the Nuremberg Forum 2021 (15 October) and utilise the opportunity to reflect on the Nuremberg Principles, the Nuremberg legacy/ies, the international criminal justice system and the Rome Statute system through a more holistic lens of seeking accountability and ending impunity for core international crimes.
